It is better to always travel with Tums in its original packaging so the security officer knows what type of medicine you are taking. Meanwhile, help you avoid any headache at the security checkpoint, even though the TSA does not enforce that.

And you don’t even need to tell the security officer that you are traveling with medications unless they are in liquid form.

If you wanted to take other types of Antacids in liquid form, ( liquids need to be less than 3.4 OZ / 100 ml ) but this rule is not applied for medication, still you. will need to take a reasonable quantity.

You will also need to remove your liquids from your bag and place them in a separate try for further screening.

Bring Tums In Checked baggage

Tums and medication in all forms are allowed in unlimited amounts in hold luggage, however; it is better to avoid placing any medication in checked baggage.

Ensure that you take them with you on board in case you need immediate access to them.

Also checked baggage can be mishandled and we don’t want you to lose your medications.

Taking Tums On International Flights

Traveling with medication on International flights has some restrictions.

But non-prescription medicines like Tum are good to go.

You will need to keep your Tums in its original packaging, so the airport officer knows why you are using your medicine.

Also it will be a good idea if you check the rules for the country you’re going to, including countries that you will have a layover.

Because countries have different rules and regulations.

  • The sort of medicine they permit on their territories
  • The amount of medicine you can take to the country
  • Also what they consider a OTC (Over-the-counter ) medications

Final Thoughts

You can pack Tums in both carry on and checked baggage on most airlines without any problems.

You don’t need to worry about the limits long as you bring the medication for personal use.

You won’t need any note from a healthcare professional or any other document, however for international flight it is better to travel with the item on its original packing so the airport security knows

We hope this helps

Happy travels
