EasyJet Baggage allowance

EasyJet Carry on baggage

All passengers are allowed to have one underseat bag ( Personal item ) free of charge, with the dimensions 45 x 36 x 20 cm / 17.5 x 14.5 x 7.8 inches and 15 kg / 33 lb in weight, this bag need to fit perfectly under the seat in front of you.

You can also bring an additional carry on bag with 56 x 45 x 25 cm / 22 x 17.7 x 9.8 inches with applicable fee.

EasyJet Plus cardholder are eligible to bring the additional large carry on bag ( 56 x 45 x 25 cm / 22 x 17.7 x 9.8 inches) on board the airplane free of charge.

Personally i never face any issues with EasyJet, but ensure that you don’t take any prohibited and restricted items in your carry on bags, read more about what to take in carry on baggage.

Liquids and aerosols

Just like any other airlines, you can bring liquids in carry on baggage but they need to be less than 3.4oz/ 10 ml.

Gels, aerosols and pasts are all considered liquids.

o if you bring your toiletries ensure that you take only 3.4 oz / 100 ml containers and place them in a sealable transparent quart sized bag.

Check in baggage / hold luggage?

You can bring up to three checked bags on EasyJet.

Then maximum you can pack is 32 kg / 70.5 lbs and and 275cm combined / 108 inches combined.

The good news is if you are traveling with your family you can combine your checked baggage.

Meaning you can add the total weight of your bags together and you don’t worry about the luggage weight.

Special Baggage

Sports equipment allowance

You can buy a maximum of six items per booking online – even if there are more than six of you. If you need more please speak to Easyjet Customer Service team.

You can pool the total weight allowances for your sports equipment and hold luggage, as long as no single item weighs more than 32kg.

(For example: If you have a total weight allowance of 52kg you could bring hold luggage weighing 31kg and sports equipment weighing 21kg).

Musical instruments into the cabin

To take an instrument on board it must be smaller than 30 x 117 x 38 cm and placed in the overhead locker. Violins, violas, flutes, piccolos clarinets, trumpets and bugles fall into this category and count as one cabin bag each. You can’t book a seat for small instruments as we’re unable to secure them safely into a seat.

Musical instruments in the hold

Any instrument larger than 30cm x 120cm x 38cm like a double bass or harp can’t be taken on board the aircraft as cabin baggage. You’ll need to add hold luggage to your booking for these items. Please ensure it’s packed safely and securely.

We recommend you buy specialist travel insurance to cover your musical instrument before you travel.

Summary

Ensure that you stay within the EasyJet airline luggage size and weight rules.

Most airlines that allowance only personal items free an charge for a carry on bag will be strict about their carry on size and weight.

If they catch sneaking a large bag, you will certainly need to pay for it, unless you take suitcase that looks small.

We hope this helps

Happy travels
