Each piece of butter must be 3.4 oz / 100 ml (96 grams ) or less placed in a quart sized bag, which is not practical when traveling with butter or any other food products.

You can always take frozen butter or buy it after you pass the security checkpoint instead.

Frozen butter is allowed in quantities of more than 3.4 oz / 100 ml, but it needs to be completely hard at the same time when you are going through the security checkpoint.

Can You Take Butter In Checked Baggage? 

There are no restrictions on transporting butter in checked bags.

If you want to take a big chunk of butter ( for any reason ) and you don’t want to split it into small pieces, then it is a good idea to place it in your checked bag, but you will need to do some hard work.

Freeze the butter and use a cooler to maintain its temperature during transportation, just ensure that the cooler is well secured.

Consider a small cooler that will fit as a checked bag so you don’t’ have to pay oversized luggage fees.

Can You Take Butter On International Flights?
