Can you Bring Juul Through The Security Checkpoint?

Juuls or vapes is a common device that the TSA and most airport securities are familiar with, I can always expect them to not ask me about it.

Even though on their website they didn’t talk specifically about Juul but they have mentioned electronic cigarettes and vaping devices in general.

And here is what they have stated.

Electron cigarettes TSA rules

Electronic smoking devices are permitted through the security checkpoint and in carry-on baggage without any restrictions.

If you end up in a full flight, there is no space in the overhead bin or your carry-on is oversized, chances are your bag will be gate checked, the bag will be placed in the cargo, so ensure that your remove any vapes or e-cigarettes before handing the bag to the airline staff.

They will mostly ask if you have any valuables or flammable items you want to take from your bag.

You can only send your vape in checked luggage if you remove the battery.

Jozef asked the TSA if he can bring his Juul on a flight.

The AskTSA replied that vapes and e-cigarettes are good go and must be packed in carry-on bags.

Taking Vape Liquid on Plane

Most Electronic devices have some type of Solvents and liquids, so they need to adhere to the airport liquid rules.

The TSA and most airports do allow only 3.4 oz /100 ml of liquids for a single container in a quart-sized bag in carry-on luggage.

Liquid vapes are permitted in carry-on bags as log as they adhere to the TSA liquid rules; less than 3.4 oz / 100 ml for each container and placed in a quart sized bag with other toiletries.

TIP

Even though most Juuls have small amounts of liquids, they will need to be placed in a quart-sized bag with other toiletries like shampoo, deodorants or  perfumes, but you can bring as many Juul devices as your quart size bag will fit.

Bring E-cigarette chargers on planes

Chargers and power banks have the same rules as lithium batteries, so you will need to take them inside your carry-on bag along with your Juul.

Any chargers or electronics that are bigger than a cell phone will need to be removed form your carry on bag and placed in a separate try at the security checkpoint.
