What Is Carry On Baggage For Indigo Airlines?

All Indigo guests are allowed to carry on board the following:

For International flights:

  • 1 one carry on bag with Maximum weight of 7 kg and the dimensions: 55 cm*35 cm*25 cm
  • In addition to your cabin bag you are allowed also one personal item up to 3 kg and may be (a handbag, a laptop bag, or a camera). 

For Domestic flights:

  • 1 one carry on bag with Maximum weight of 7 kg and the dimensions: 55 cm*35 cm*25 cm
  • In addition to your cabin bag you are also allowed one personal item up to 3 kg and may be (a handbag, a laptop bag, or a camera). 

What can I bring as carry on indiGo flights?

 IndiGo Airlines allows its Guests to carry on board its aircafts one cabin bag with no more than 7 kgs in weight. 

as well as one personal item  that can  include items such as a ladies’ hand bag or a small laptop bag not weighing more than 3 kgs. 

What if i’m traveling with  infants?

If you are travelling with your infant, the IndiGo airline baggage allows you to carry one stroller or baby pram per infant, free of charge.

Does IndiGo weigh cabin baggage?

Yes, In accordance with the IndiGo Airlines baggage policy, your hand baggage can consist of only one cabin bag weighing not more than 7 kgs.

You are also allowed another item like a personal hand bag that does not exceed 3 kgs in weight.

What is indigo check in baggage size?

IndiGo standard checked baggage allowance is as follows:

  • flights: Bangkok,Dhaka, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Male, Phuket, Singapore: 20 kg
  • flights: jeddah: 25 Kg +( 5 L Zamzam water=>Only for flights from Jeddah to India)
  • flights: Abu Dhabi,Colombo, Doha, Dubai, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Kuwait, Muscat, Sharjah, Yangon: 30 kg
  • Dimensions:Max 158cm (62 inches) (Length + Width + Height)

What is not allowed in checked baggage IndiGo?

Indigo airline do not allow in checked baggage the following items

  • Power Bank
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 7
  • E-cigarettes

IndiGo Excess Baggage

If you want to carry more with you or seems that your suitcase exceeds the IndiGo airlines baggage policy stated above, you can book pre-paid excess baggage up to 2 hours before your departure via IndiGo website or call centre.

Special Items

if you want to carry more items with you on board with Indigo that will fit a seat , you will need to pay for an additional seat. subject to availability and applicable fares.

However, IndiGo reserves the right to refuse carrying of any large item(s) which we feel may present a safety risk. 

Sport equipment

  1. Sports/Skiing equipment
  2. Golf bags
  3. Bicycles
  4. Surf boards
  5. LCD and LED TVs of size more than 99.06 cms (81.28 cm for ex-Riyadh flights)
  6. Other large and/or odd-sized items, including cartons, whose dimensions (L+W+H) exceed 158 cms

IndiGo will apply a fee of INR 1200 (16 USD) (or equivalent in foreign currency) for Domestic flights and INR 2500 (34 USD)(or equivalent in foreign currency) for International flights , for any Special Baggage  that is submitted as Checked Baggage.

This fee will be applied over and above any Excess Baggage charges that might be applicable.

Musical instruments

Indigo allows its guests to transport musical instruments in Domestic and International flights at no additional fees.

Guitars, if packed in soft cases, can be carried in hand baggage, however, other instruments have to be properly packed and can be carried in Check-in baggage only.

Indigo Restricted Items

For your safety and safety of all IndiGo Guests the following items are prohibited from carrying in your carry on baggage and checked baggage:

  • Acids
  • poison,Toxic
  • Flammable liquids
  • Explosives
  • Bleach

Prohibited items in Cabin Baggage :

  • Dry cell batteries
  • Knives, scissors, Swiss army knives and other sharp instruments
  • Toy replicas  of fire arms and ammunition
  • Weapons such as whips, nan-chakus, baton, or stun gun
  • Electronic devices which cannot be switched off
  • Aerosols and liquids
  • Any other items which are deemed security hazards by local law
