What Is Allowed In Hand Luggage Jetstar?

Carry on baggage for jetstar is as follows:

  • Economy Starter, Starter Plus and Starter Max guests: are allowed to carry a main item and a small item, with a combined weight of no more than 7kg.
  • Passengers with a Flex bundle, +7kg Extra Carry-On Baggage or Business Class fare: are allowed also to carry a main item and a small item with a combined weight of no more than 14kg.
    • No single item can weigh more than 10kg. Limited availability per flight. +7kg Extra Carry-On Baggage is not available for flights to, from or within Vietnam.

Jetstar has a strict policy regarding carry on baggage / hand luggage policy size and weight, at the gate the airline will check your baggage weight and size.

which includes one main item per person and one small personal item, and the combined weight must be 7kg or under.

Your main item must fit in the overhead lockers and be no larger than 56cm (height) x 36cm (width) x 23cm (depth). Your small item must fit under the seat in front of you. If you exceed either size or weight limits, charges will apply at the airport.

Jetstar checked baggage policy is as follows:

Economy Starter fares:

No checked baggage allowance included.
You can purchase a 15kg, 20kg, 25kg, 30kg, 35kg or 40kg baggage allowance
Economy Starter fare with Plus bundle:

20kg checked baggage allowance (up to 10kg for Jetstar Japan (GK) domestic flights).
You can purchase up to an additional 20kg if you need it (up to 30kg for Jetstar Japan (GK) domestic flights).
Economy Starter fare with Max bundle:

30kg checked baggage allowance.
You can purchase up to an additional 10kg if you need it.
Economy Starter fare with Flex bundle

No checked baggage allowance included.
You can purchase a 15kg, 20kg, 25kg, 30kg, 35kg or 40kg baggage allowance.

Jetstar Excess Baggage

It is always cheaper if you add your luggage when you book online; because if you don’t have a pre booked baggage allowance you may need to add some extra fees (as displayed in the table) in the airport check in desk, and the fee for the first 15 kg of baggage per passenger, then a fee for each additional kilo.

If you have added checked baggage to your booking but arrive with more than your allowance, you’ll also be charged for excess baggage at the per-kilo rate, see below.

If you have connecting flights with a domestic and international leg, you’ll be charged at the international per-kilo rate noted below for the whole journey.

Your carry-on baggage may be subject to checked baggage at the boarding gate if you bring too many items, or they exceed the Jetstar hand luggage allowance weight limits or size.

Jetstar Sport Equipment

Can I bring my bicycle?

Yes, you can bring your bicycle with Jetstar, but remember that an oversized item fee will apply to any item with a single side longer than one meter including wheels handles and packaging.

The weight of your bike will count towards your total checked baggage weight, so make sure you purchase enough checked baggage.

The oversized item fee is a separate handling fee, paid per item and does not add any extra weight to your checked baggage allowance.

Can I bring my surfboard, skis or snowboard?

Jetstar Musical Instruments

Jetstar allowed its passengers to bring of musical instruments, but the weight and size of your instruments will decide whether you will carry it on board the aircraft or you will check in it

Please note that if you bring a musical instrument longer than one miter an oversized handling item charge will apply.
